Turns out a lot of people are high on Life. Up next is an all-Cinnamon Sweet 16 matchup against the top dog - Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

Safeway Bracket: 1st Round

4. Lucky Charms defeats 5. Cap'n Crunch 26-21

Yeesh. I had a bad day of predictions, I thought Lucky Charms would own the only blowout of the day. Instead it's the only close race on a day of blowouts. I guess I seriously overestimated the power of the mallow.

Publix Bracket: 1st Round

4. Apple Jacks defeats 5. Smacks 31-15

I'm very disappointed in the Smacks no-show. A very solid cereal got trounced in what I assumed would be a close call.

A&P Bracket: 1st Round

4. Honey Bunches of Oats defeats 5. Multi-Grain Cheerios 31-17

The Cheerios name is now 3-1 after its "healthiest" flavor is canned by HBO.

Today we wrap up the first round but not before our four 3-6 matchups, each pitting a sugar-packed cereal vs. a plain-jane old-classic. Cheerios' dominant victory is really the only evidence that these matches will be close.

We had a little dip in votership this weekend, despite having 2 more days to vote. Let's trend in the opposite direction today.
